Our Vision.
We do things a little differently at Little Gates Creations; check out our shop and see what we have for you! All of Our items are handmade in Gates NY - we offer Retention Caps, Turbans and Headbands; the perfect accessory for your little one. They all have a super soft mesh located around the ear for Hearing Aids & Cochlear implants. It provides the ultimate balance of hearing with minimal feedback and helping to extend wear time while preventing tiny humans from trying to remove their device - or worse, losing it! Each little one will need different products for different stages of their journey; please don't hesitate to reach out to us and we will help to find what is best for your needs.
Our Story.
My best friend Kristilynn and I got the news that her infant daughter Evelyn had failed her hearing test. The little one continued on to fail four more after that. At the age of 3 months, she was diagnosed with Sensorineural Hearing Loss. She continued HA trials and was considered for cochlear at 12 months.
We knew we had to find a way to keep the devices safe from damage and secure on her head. After doing some research into existing products, and even trying a few, nothing was working and the lack of options for different styles was definitely a struggle for our needs!
I began making patterns and spent hours on end for months trying different hats/headbands on our little model to see what worked. We were able to weed out the products that didn’t work well, pick out beautiful and stylish options that fit and most importantly were functional. Then We were tried these patterns and styles to see how they worked long term once Evelyn was able to wear her hearing aids for a full day.
The business side came about when, at Evelyn’s ENT/Audiology and EIP appointments, doctors and patients alike started asking for business cards/information on how to get these products. Together we decided that going forward on this journey to create a business providing such a great product was exactly what we needed to do! We are excited to now provide these cute Hearing Aid/Cochlear implant accessories and take our journey and join you and your little ones in yours.
Evelyn is now 2, continues to wear a hearing aid on her right side, and has a cochlear implant on her left side.
